3 Things to Never Forget on Your Sales Page
Fall is the perfect time to launch a new service, product, or other offer, so I want to help you with a launch detail that often gets overlooked: Your sales page!
A sales page is a page on your website dedicated to giving details about and selling a specific offer. You can have sales pages for:
Online Courses
Digital & Physical Products
Services
VIP Days (see mine here 😏)
...and more!
Sales pages are vital, because they help communicate how incredible your unique offer is and encourage people to buy. They’re your offer’s main hub, where potential buyers come to see if your offer is right for them.
Now because you're here, that probably means you're more of a DIY kinda gal. SO, I want to help you create a sales page that shows off your amazing new offer and lands you all the sales.
Here’s three pieces you shouldn’t forget:
1. How it works
People want to know exactly what's going to happen once they buy. Give them a simple 1-2-3 (or even 4!) step plan that lays it all out--even if it's a little vague! Step 1 usually starts with your sales page’s main call to action. Something like “Join the program”, “Choose your template”, “Purchase the ebook”, etc. The middle steps should talk about delivery of the product or service (how they’ll receive it), and the final step should explain the kind of success they can expect to see.
Here's a few examples for you:
Example for digital products & courses:
Click "purchase" / Select your payment plan
Get instant access to ____
Dive in and become a pro at _____
Example for services: (taken from my VIP Template Restyle page!)
Choose Your Template
Get it tailored to your brand
Hop on your revisions + review call
Launch your site in 48 hours!
Including this plan is yet another way to build trust between you and your customers, and more trust = more sales.
2. Social Proof
People like to buy from brands who have solved their customers’ problems before. Social proof is what displays that you have successfully solved these types of problems before.
Social proof includes:
DM screenshots
a testimonial next to a client photo (used with permission of course!)
past examples of work
statistics/numbers about past success
product reviews
before & after pictures
If your offer's new and you don't yet have any of these things, that's okay! One thing you can do is include social proof from previous offers or services, because it still shows that you’re a trusted brand. But be sure to come back later and add social proof specific to this offer when you can.
3. Clear Calls-to-Actions (CTAs)
Ultimately, all your hard work is for nothing if your customers can't figure out what to do next.
Be sure to add plenty of buttons/links that go to your checkout/purchase page, so people can actually buy! It might seem silly, but you'd be surprised how many landing pages out there aren't clear about what to do/where to go to get the amazing offer they're raving about.
Example button texts:
Buy Now
Choose a payment plan
Access the e-book now
Hint: Notice how they all start with an action verb?? That's important!
There's plenty more that can go on your sales page, (like, what the offer actually includes) but these 3 items maybe aren't as obvious and are a great place to start. Keep these in mind when DIYing the sales page for your next amazing offer, to create a page that sells for you.
